      S.T.A.B.L.E Program

The STABLE program is an internationally recognized educational program that focuses on post-resuscitation and pre-transport stabilization of sick newborns.  We have certified instructors in the S.T.A.B.L.E program that teach in both community and tertiary hospitals throughout Arizona.

Creighton University and University of Arizona third year medical students rotate through the NICU at St. Joseph Hospital.  Fourth year medical students can take electives at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Maricopa Medical Center, or Banner Good Samaritan Hospital/Phoenix Children's Hospital.

  Residency Programs


Phoenix Baptist Hospital Family Practice Residents rotate through the St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center 65 bed NICU.


Phoenix Children's Hospital Pediatric Residents rotate through the 75 bed Phoenix Children's Hospital NICU at Banner Good Samaritan, the 40 bed NICU at Maricopa Medical Center, and 65 bed NICU at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.

Residents from other Pediatric programs can take an elective in Neonatology at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.
